David Wald-Hopkins AIA LEED AP
After 20 years with the firm, David Wald-Hopkins retired in 2012. He was the Managing Principal for BWS and also served as Project Manager for many of the firm's most significant commissions: the LEED-Platinum Applied Research & Development Facility at Northern Arizona University, the Desert Vista Campus of Pima Community College, the Sierra Vista Public Library and the Administration Building for the San Xavier District of the Tohono O'odham Nation.
He and Dave Burns acquired the practice of Friedman, Keim & McFerron in January 1992, and soon changed the name to Burns & Wald-Hopkins Architects. They changed it again to Burns Wald-Hopkins Shambach Architects after Robin Shambach became a partner in 2004. Most recently the firm has been known as BWS Architects, reflecting the addition of Frank Slingerland to the partnership ranks in 2010.
